The Tilehurst End Is One

April 5, 2012 1 comment

Other than sounding like some horrible spiritual mantra, the headline above means that we’ve passed the one year mark as a website. When we first launched a year ago I don’t think any of us expected to have such a great reaction from Reading fans so thanks to everyone who has come over and read or submitted an article, plus those we’ve interviewed or have helped us out with opposition fans views.

Also thanks to other fantastic Reading sites, The Royals Rendezvous & HobNobAnyone? for the continued support, as well as the Royals Post Podcast and the people at Reading FC themselves who have always been happy to back us, cheers to all of you.

We’re hoping for another great year and if you’d like to contribute we always welcome people on board, just send us an email to

Meanwhile here are a few of our favorite articles from our first year.

Wimb looks back on the career of Chris Armstrong ahead of his emotional return to the Madejski ahead of the Sheffield United game.

How To Make a Small Fortune From Football – Part One, Two, Three  – April 2011

Royal Links – Some Tilehurst End Cameos

Reading FC

It’s fair to say that Reading have made the wider footballing world sit up and take notice in recent weeks and we’ve been lucky enough here on The Tilehurst End to be invited to do a couple of bits and pieces across the internet for other sites and podcasts over the past few days.

Firstly I was invited onto the excellent Football League Podcast We Are Going Up to discuss the West Ham game, which you can listen to here.

We were also asked to share our thoughts on Reading’s season so far on the Best of the Bets website, which you can read here.

Just thought I’d quickly (and shamelessly) plug my appearance on the We Are Going Up podcast this week, talking about Kebe, Brian’s record as manager and hopes for the rest of the season.

The podcast covers all matters across the Football League and thanks to the guys for having me on. You can check out the episode here and please follow the guys on twitter @WAGUpodcast

Or in this case, gone to Reading Festival.

With the bulk of our editing team out of the country or at Reading Festival there’s going to be a bit of a break here at The Tilehurst End. The odd article might go up over the weekend, but that’s the reason why there’s been a bit of a lul as of late!

Still starting from Monday we’ll be back in the full swing of things so please keep checking back!
